Movie Online - Figure skater Evan Lysacek and gymnast Nastia Liukin are the Olympic It Couple. Lysacek, who became the first American in 22 years to take home gold in men's figure skating last week (although not without controversy), confirms to People magazine that he's been dating Liukin, who won gold in Beijing two years ago.
They met not long after the Beijing games, when they performed on NBC's Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular, but they didn't start dating until last summer, when they attended the ESPYs together, Lysacek says. Liukin and Lysacek have been spotted party-hopping around Vancouver since Thursday night, when Lysacek soared past Evgeni Plushenko to win the gold.
"To see his dreams come true was amazing," Liukin says. "Even though we're not in the same sport, we got to connect at the same level because there's nothing like the Olympics. It was nice to be on other side of things and be the support system, but I was nervous."
